I was born in Knoxville, TN but spent most of my childhood in central Pennsylvania. My family relocated to Greenville, SC where I studied both ceramics and music theory at the Fine Arts Center. I later received a BA from the College of Charleston (double major in studio art and classical guitar performance) and an MFA from Clemson University. My BA artwork focused primarily on painting and drawing while my MFA thesis incorporated sculpture, painting, and printmaking. While at the College of Charleston I was highly influenced by the classical figurative work of Jon Michel and am indebted greatly during my MFA studies to the teachings of David Detrich. My art is held in collections in both Europe and the United States. I am currently a Professor of Art at North Greenville University where I have the privilege of interacting daily with artists and seek the goal of developing their conceptual, technical, and spiritual maturity.
